BURGER SAUCE
I love a good burger sauce. McDonald’s Big Mac sauce? Yum. In-N-Out’s Animal Style sauce? Also yum. There is just something about a creamy, tangy sauce that takes a regular burger and makes it so much better.
Of course, I had to make my own version. I wanted it tangy, slightly spicy, and packed with plenty of pickle flavor. The stone-ground mustard and fresh lemon juice give it that perfect tang, while the Frank’s RedHot Wing Sauce adds just enough heat without making it overly spicy.
The finely diced dill pickle is what really brings it all together. You get a little pickle crunch in every bite, and once the sauce sits in the refrigerator for a bit, all those flavors blend into something so simple but so good.
I originally made this for my Smashburger Sliders, but now I want to put it on everything—burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and chicken tenders. It takes only a few minutes to make, and honestly, once you make your own burger sauce, plain ketchup just doesn’t feel like enough anymore.
Tangy, pickle-y, and slightly spicy, this Burger Sauce is my take on the sauces I’ve always loved—with my own little twist. It’s simple to make, and I hope it becomes the sauce your family reaches for every burger night, just like mine does. ♥
Burger Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- ½ tablespoon ketchup
- 2 teaspoons stone-ground mustard
- 1–2 teaspoons Frank’s RedHot Wing Sauce
- 1 Vlasic Kosher Dill Baby Pickle, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir until smooth and evenly mixed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Serve on burgers, sliders, sandwiches, or as a dipping sauce. Easy peasy—enjoy!
Jesse’s Kitchen Tip
Dice the pickle as finely as possible so you get a little pickle flavor in every bite. Let the sauce chill for at least 30 minutes before serving—the extra time makes all the difference.
Serving Suggestions

Storage
Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Stir well before serving.

Reheating
No reheating needed. Serve chilled directly from the refrigerator, or let it sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving. Stir well before using.
Variations
♥ Add extra Frank’s RedHot Wing Sauce for more heat.
♥ Mix in finely diced jalapeño for a spicy crunch.
♥ Add a pinch of smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
♥ Stir in finely grated garlic for extra flavor.
♥ Swap the dill pickle for a bread-and-butter pickle for a sweeter sauce.
Baby Friendly?
Suitable for 12+ months in small amounts.
• Omit the hot sauce for a milder version.
• Reduce the pickle and mustard to lower the sodium.
• Serve only a thin layer with baby’s meal.
RDH Tip
Lemon juice, ketchup, and hot sauce are acidic and can temporarily soften enamel. Rinse with water after eating and wait 30 minutes before brushing.
- From the first swipe on the bun to the last fry dipped in the bowl, this is one sauce that never goes to waste in our house. ♥
